LIGHTING PROJECT
Installed in the 90’s, the white light fixtures of the Crowne Plaza Moscow needed to be replaced by a more sustainable and efficient lighting system capable of integrating the restored hotel in the completely renovated surrounding area.
On this occasion, a modern, artistic concept of architectural lighting was developed by the SvetoProekt Engineering Bureau of International Trade for the façade and for the side wall of the hotel, which is visible from the access road.
Fitted with linear glass windows, the façade of the hotel looks clean, geometrically regular and neat. The designers wanted to deliver an emotional visual impact to the building through a dynamic illumination system capable of flood lighting the whole façade without interfering with the glazed spaces.
Banks of POWERSHINE MK2 S RGBW with elliptical optics were installed in the spans among the windows on custom-made metal structures assuring the highest level of security in the observance of the legal standards of illumination. The corner of the building is highlighted with units of POWERSHINE MK2 D RGBW with narrow optics installed at ground level to light up the whole height of the building. Before the installation, the design engineers of SvetoProekt had carefully considered every single detail concerning the luminaires, their positioning and aiming, their visual impact on the structure, and the flexibility of the operation system.
