Completed in December 2021, Cua Luc 1 Bridge connects
the two banks of Cua Luc Bay, offering a new development space for Ha Long City
in particular and Quang Ninh province in general. This imposing
infrastructure has been engineered to ease the overload of Bai Chay Bridge and
ensure smooth traffic connections between the north and south of Ha Long, even
during the rainy season.
Measuring 290m in length and 33.1m in width, the steel arch bridge features
six lanes with a speed limit of 60km per hour and two pedestrian sidewalks. The
central span design is enriched by a wave pattern, with arches of increasing dimensions
towards the centre of the bridge and decreasing towards its extremities. The
visual appealing of these double rows of arches is really striking and has
already become an aesthetic distinctive feature of this functional structure.
