Opened on February 24, 2021, the imposing Sabah Al Ahmad Corridor features a total length of about 29 km. It links 15 highways among vital economic, commercial, educational, and health facilities in Doha, spanning from Hamad International Airport to Umm Lekhba Interchange.
Stretching across the city from the south to the north to connect more than 25 neighborhoods with high population density, the largest interchange in Qatar consists of 4 levels and 9 bridges, among which stand out the first cable-stayed bridge in Qatar of 1.2 km in length, the longest bridge in Qatar with 2.6 km of length, and the deepest (25 m) and longest (2.1 km) tunnel in the country.
With a substantial capacity of approximately 20,000 vehicles per hour, the Sabah Al Ahmad Corridor significantly improves travel for thousands of daily commuters between north and south Doha, reducing travel time by 70%.
